August 4 Pronounced a Statutory Public Holiday To Mark Founder’s Day

Interior Minister Ambrose Derry has pronounced Friday, August 4, 2023, Founder’s Day, a Statutory Public Holiday for the entire nation.
President Akufo Addo changed the date in 2018 from September 21 to August 4 in honor of Ghana’s first prime minister and president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
The general public is officially reminded that Friday, August 4, 2023, which is known as Founders’ Day, is a Statutory Public Holiday and shall be recognized as such throughout the country, according to a letter dated Wednesday, July 26, and signed by Interior Minister Ambrose Dery.
Founders’ Day is celebrated to honor the contributions of all the front-liners who sacrificed their lives fighting for the nation’s independence.
